Home built 3 link front , Dana 44 high pinion with dodge flat top knuckles , chromo axles , locked and trussed , rotated inner Cs, shaved Ford 9 inch rear axle with custom made disc brake setup using chev callipers and dodge discs , plated unibody and extensive armour under the Jeep and “frame rails”, mini boat sides, custom built roll cage , custom bumpers and tire Carrier, hydro assist steering ( rear steer on the books ) . Engine was originally a 4.0 auto and i swapped in a v2203di kubota diesel out of a carrier Reefer cooling unit with 14,000 hours, turbo charged with a k03 and large intercooler. Plus I've also swapped it to a 5 speed ax15 manual transmission. I’ve advanced the timing and opened the pump up for a little more power out of the 39hp 4 banger . Jeep sits on 36 inch rubber with home made beadlocks. Everything on this jeep was used or repurposed parts from other builds or other equipment, in hopes of keeping the costs down.

Build story

The why and I guess why not? ... I built it out of pure curiosity to see just how far i can go with the tools and skills I have . Seeing as I’m in northern Canada with remote areas and I wanted something relatively reliable and completely wireless to run as to not get stranded. Fuel economy was huge as I’m far away from the pumps when up north . I can say as the years have passed I like driving to Offroad events and vehicle shows but I more enjoy building on it just for the unique factor and that’s why i chose the 2203 diesel as it was a rare swap up here in Canada and as far as I know I’m the only one running it in a 5300 pound Cherokee.
