Build story

I bought it as an MOT failure for a project to work on, sitting on the garage forecourt it looked absolutely mint, but when I finally got it home and started to see what needed doing it turned out to be absolutely wrecked, I could poke holes through the chassis with a screw driver, so I welded so much galv plate onto the chassis I can now say its a galvanised chassis, following on from that I had to replace the entire brake lines with copper pipes, with new disks and pads and calipers, in doing so I discovered that the previous owner was a retard and packed the bearings with copper slip, so I had to replace all of the stub axles and bearings because the copper slip or copper grease had acted like a grinding disk and fucked everything, I also had to replace the vacuum pump because it was pissing oil out of the gasket, but it turned out that the previous owner was a massive retard and never tightened the bolts on it, same with the rocker cover which was also pissing oil out, Oh! and the exhaust manifold downward pipe to the exhaust was also fucked because he used metric nuts on imperial bolts so there was an inch gap between the manifold and the exhaust. \r

Its currently sat on my drive because after a year on the road I found more rot and I'm just waiting now to get it into our workshop where I can start cutting bits off it and turning it into a pickup conversion.\r
\r
this is why I have entered the Minty category because its absolutely fucked but still minty as fuck!\r
\r
Edit: Oh yeah, the timing belt was thrown off at 70mph, which is why I included some pictures of the rockers where it smashed a rocker arm off, but the 300 TDI is a hardy piece of kit and it was back on the road in a week or so
