Build story
the concept for the build started 4 years ago as a project to promote Kappa Haus capability and provide more choices for swapped vehicles. Brian Cooper approached me with his willingness to partially support a V8 swap into a Saturn Sky Redline (2L - turbo). Originally we started researching the engine and I was leaning towards the LSX-454, but after a couple of weeks it became clear that the 454 wasn't the engine for my project. So we "settled" on a LS7. Mast Motorsports sold us a black label engine with the high output cam. We later sent the engine back to Mast Motorsports and had them put in their SS cam and do a complete engine dyno on the engine so it would be easier to drive on the street. The original cam was for racing mostly. I began saving up money and sending it to Brian so he could start buying parts. Last December, the car was mostly assembled minus the paint, then in January House of Pearls painted the car Ming Blue Metallic with blue pearl and a show car clear treatment with 3 coats of clear, cut and sanded in-between coats of clear. The engine makes 688hp at the crank and should make 550ish at the wheels. Theoretical top speed is 220, though the aerodynamics won't support that speed. Best guess is 175mph top speed. The last thing to go on the car is the trailer hitch - its currently being powder-coated. Brian and I have worked hard on this build and I hope to take the car on the power tour, to LS Fest in Bolling green KY, LS Fest in Las Vegas, Hot August Nights in Reno NV and several other prominent car shows. I have no intention to race the car - it will be driven and shown only.
