Meet Golfball the Miata
Pretty standard hail damaged NB2 Miata with stock 1.8 VVT engine, 6 speed manual, 3.90 Torsen diff, Stock Soft S suspension package, and 224k miles. Purchased from a friend in Houston, Texas sight unseen and immediately road tripped 1000 miles home to Glasgow, Kentucky. A few weeks later I took it to my first autocross at Grissom air base in Indiana with all my tools and my race wheels packed inside the car. Had great fun doing my first slow and sloppy runs, then went home. A weird job change had me taking the Miata from Glasgow to Detroit where I spent a couple months there. At one point I drove the Miata back home for another autocross test and tune at NCM Motorsports Park, doing about a dozen runs on the all seasons to see how it felt, then driving it back Detroit Monday morning. A couple months after that it got a new timing belt before another road trip to Road America to work grid for Gridlife.
Car is currently getting prepped to be used as my trainer car so I can develop as a driver and hopefully start doing HPDE this season.
