Stock, cuz its reliable. I did remove the heat exchanger for the transmission fluid, didn't make sense to heat up the oil and then send up to the air to oil cooler. I live in Arizona we always need cooling.
Build story
just a daily driver ranch truck with 456,000+ miles. engine started making noises so its down and out for a rebuild. cyl 6 cracked a ring that then gouged the wall and popped up pieces to the top of the piston to be hammered in to the piston. bent 2 valves as the pieces got caught by the closing valves and then fell back in to the cylinder. so damage done and one cylinder sleeved. its taking me a while 2 years now but it is going back together and Ive almost got it done, the initial start up showed that I missed the two oil gallery plugs in the back, that made a mess. I took off the transmission to put those in and now Im wondering if there is still enough assembly lube left on the parts, I did push some oil in thru a few oil holes to try to prime the system a bit. will see just waiting to get some coolant before the next startup attempt.
