Build story
This truck was bought by my dad in 1979 as a parts truck. It sat in the sand and sagebrush until about 2018 when I decided to start the project to spend time with my dad after my mother passed. I was living in Washington state and he lives in Nevada. I would fly down several times a year to work on the truck. Originally a 2-wheel drive C10, I bought a four-wheel drive frame in Washington and sandblasted and repainted the frame. Added a Dana 60 out of a 1971 Longhorn, rebuilt the Dana 44 front end with my brother. Rebuilt the SM465 and NP205, added a Superlift spring kit. Got the truck rolling and then the truck sat until Covid. I ended up moving back to Nevada and began working on the truck and it became my Covid-19 project. Originally swapped in a 350 TPI mtor. Almost two years ago decide to "LS-it". Pulled a 200k mile LQ4, re gasketed the motor and installed it. I have put over 35K miles on the truck since I got it back on the road. I've taken it on 1100 mile road trips. It is my daily driver.
I plan to add an NV4500 in the near future but right now it is too driveable. The truck is super reliable and is driven almost every day.
